RSA is pleased to announce
"From Roots to Wings: Guiding Youth With Disabilities to Employment"
RSA's first National Transition Conference
Today, transition services are an important component of the services provided to increasing numbers of students with disabilities as part of each student's individualized plan for employment. As such, State vocational rehabilitation and education agencies play a critical role in facilitating the transition of youth with disabilities from school to post-school activities. To be effective, however, transition planning and service delivery must begin early and require the participation of many interested partners.
RSA, the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation, State VR agencies, State educational agencies, youth leadership organizations, consumer organizations, and other stakeholder groups are planning a national conference that will offer learning experiences and networking opportunities for State VR agency and State education agency staff at both the State and local levels. This conference will bring together vocational rehabilitation and education policy makers and practitioners, as well as personnel from collaborating agencies who work with transitioning youth with disabilities. We hope that you can join us for this important event.
CONFERENCE ATTENDEES WILL:
- learn about transition model programs,
- build capacity, and
- develop strategies for improving transition services.
